Bach: a Family Business
An afternoon featuring music from the Bach family. Johann Sebastian Bach was surrounded by musical uncles, cousins, and fathers-in-law, while his children continued his legacy, featuring music by J.S. Bach and the best of his family, who produced music of the highest calibre for almost 200 years.

Workshops on the Baroque Recorder Repertoire
Baroque Performance Series
A program directed by Alan Thrasher, Professor Emeritus, UBC, the aim being to explore the beautiful solo and trio sonatas of Loeillet and other masters for alto (treble) recorder, with harpsichord.
Level: For intermediate and advanced intermediate players (level to be determined in advance).
Focus: Baroque performance style, including ornamentation, articulation, phrasing, temperament and other elements of musicianship.
New for 2018: Different ornamentation options of same sonatas may be examined, based upon historic recordings and new editions.

We are inviting dedicated recorder students and teachers to apply for a full scholarship to the 2019 Columbia Gorge Early Music Retreat. We plan to award up to two scholarships worth $556 each.
This popular workshop is sold out aside from scholarship places. Full scholarship includes room, board and tuition, but not transportation.
