Glorious music including works by Palestrina, Gabrieli and Monteverdi.

Into the effects of Humanism on musical composition

The new respect given amateur and professional musicians
PLACE
Yourself in the 15th and 16th century and see how knowledge of the times affects your playing.
This all day event will be directed by Patricia Hawkins Hiss, Artistic Director of the Bellingham Recorder Players. There will be three playing sessions peppered with historic information related to the music and one master class. Soloists or small ensembles may play a prepared selection of their choice for applause and comments. Selections should be by a Renaissance composer, preferably Italian, and should be from 3 to 8 minutes in length. Please provide a score. Pre-registration including the names of players and their instrument, the composer and title of selection and an approximate timing is required.
BCRS workshops are open to all, you don't have to be a member. We are also taking flute and string players for this workshop. Other instruments may also be considered.
